Planet Zoo 2 Red Panda: Enclosure Type, Edition & Habitat Notes

They share a name and a taste for bamboo, but they are different animals. Frontier's entry for the red panda lists it as Endangered, with about 10,000 in the wild, and describes a solitary, territorial species. Both pandas are base-game land animals.

Is the red panda related to the giant panda in Planet Zoo 2?

Ailurus fulgens, also called the firefox. Frontier describes a solitary, territorial animal that feeds mainly on bamboo, gripping stems with an enlarged wrist bone that works like a thumb. Fur on the soles of its feet helps against cold and leaves scent marks.

Despite the name, it is not a small giant panda, so plan it as its own species. A cool, forested mountain theme with bamboo fits the official description; treat plant choices as scenery until the game's foliage and diet requirements are known.
