If you want to play on 13 October, note that the announced disc release is later. The FAQ does not specify an exact unlock time or preload schedule; we have not confirmed either.
Which platforms are supported?
The announced console versions are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Frontier reports no plans for previous-generation consoles, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 or macOS. PC players should compare their Windows hardware with the published system requirements.
Frontier also lists GeForce NOW as a cloud-gaming option. Check its availability and service terms for your region before relying on it as an alternative to local hardware.
Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus availability has not been announced in the FAQ. A subscription listing should not be assumed.
PC and console: what differs?
Console versions use a complexity meter to limit building complexity for performance. Frontier has not provided a numerical capacity in the FAQ. Both PC and console support a gamepad or mouse and keyboard.
The in-game workshop supports sharing parks and blueprints across platforms. That is creation sharing, not multiplayer: Frontier says the game has no multiplayer mode.
Can you play offline?
Frontier says the downloaded game can be played offline. An internet connection is needed to download workshop blueprints or share parks. That distinction matters if you plan to build offline but use community creations later.
What to check before launch
- Choose digital or disc with the different dates in mind.
- Compare Standard and Deluxe by the extra animals you actually want.
- Check PC requirements or the console complexity-meter limitation.
- Use the dated Zoopedia tracker for animal reveals. Verified enclosure values and compatibility are still pending.
